vtiger CRM documentations

Since the v5.0 Beta will strike in the near future we have started to draft a new manual. As mentioned before this manual will also include a detail description of the new security functions. As usual it will take some time before the v5.0 is developed enough to work in a professional environment. Therefore, for the new manual release it makes sense to wait until a stable version.

Probably most users will stick with v4.2 in the meantime. That motivates to continue in maintaining the v4.2 manual version.

Today we decided not to develop the security guide any further. Instead we will make it as a part of the V5.0 user and administration manual. It makes more sense to have everything in one paper.

Thanks to the feedbacks from the community the manual for the CRM version 4.2 has been updated to version V1.1. This version corrects mostly screenshot errors. You may view it as HTML or download a Windows Help File or purchase an eBook at http://blog.vtiger-handbuch.de/.

Finally, we have issued the version 1.0 of the manual. You may view it as HTML or download Windows Help File at http://blog.vtiger-handbuch.de/ or http://vtigerforge.fosslabs.com/.

Since we begun to check the v5.0 we got behind the schedule to finish the v4.2 manual. Its a question of ressources. The user interface of the 5.0 is much better than any other web based software we have seen so far. But most exiting are the new security features.

By now all the screenshots are in English. We will continue to review the draft to include the recent version changes.

The v4.2 user and administraton manual is now available as first draft at http://blog.vtiger-handbuch.de/. That means that all CRM functions has been described in a HTML and Windows Help file.

Now we we will review the language, change some screen shots and design the PDF format. Any hints for improvements are welcome. Please send those to vtigermanual@crm-now.de.

The v4.2 user manual part has been drafted by now. (see vtiger manual v4.2 at the right side at http://blog.vtiger-handbuch.de/). There are still some image and formatting issues that need to be fixed. Also, we have again a problems to provide a PDF copy. So you may look after the HTML and the MS Help (3 Mb) file version to see the current draft.

The only part left is the administration chapter. Are there any other hidden functions we have not described?
